Teixeira Duarte marks “Trainer's Day” at its Professional Development Center in Angola


Referring to “Trainer's Day”, celebrated in Portugal on November 18th, the Teixeira Duarte Group promoted an event at its Professional Development Center (CDP) in Angola with a view to bringing together employees who are currently in-house trainers at the Group's companies in country and provide a moment of reflection and sharing of experiences on his contribution to the organisation.
The event, which took place at the end of November, was attended by training employees from various business areas of the Teixeira Duarte Group. The CDP currently has, globally, almost 100 internal trainers.
Elisa Gramaxo, an employee at Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções and a certified trainer, said, regarding this event, “In the experience of the “Trainer's Day” we concluded that the training of trainers is essential for obtaining the trainer license, but the personal, psychological, human resource management, personal relationship skills, which turn out to be fundamental throughout the learning path, and which will certainly contribute to a greater number of capable trainers and satisfied trainees.”. For Gerson Mbengi, also from Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções and certified trainer, “training is building knowledge, consolidating skills and affirming attitudes”. As for Suzana Castro, from the company TDA, “Training is an act of creativity, it is an act of transforming something that already exists.”.
The commitment of the Teixeira Duarte Group to the training of training employees has been an essential instrument in the professional qualification component in Angola and has proved to be a success. The fact that much of the training is given “to employees by employees” reinforces the motivation and spirit of enterprise for those who share knowledge, fostering stronger working relationships between trainers and trainees.
The Professional Development Center itself also contributes to this success, where most of the qualifying activities carried out in this market are concentrated and which has been a structuring pillar in the construction of a lifelong learning ecosystem for employees of all the Group's activities Teixeira Duarte in Angola. CDP now has more than 90 training courses certified by INEFOP that it makes available to Group companies, it is the 1st Center Certified by Renault in sub-Saharan Africa and promotes, in addition to other initiatives, the “Fazer Pescar” Program which recently reached the milestone of the 500 young people trained and professionally integrated into Teixeira Duarte companies.
