“Fazer Pescar” helps integrate 587 young people into Teixeira Duarte Group companies in Angola
The “Fazer Pescar” Programme, whose 18th edition ended yesterday, June 21st, is an initiative promoted by the Teixeira Duarte Group which aims to create employment opportunities for young people in situations of social need, giving them training to autonomously to be a fundamental part of the development of their communities. The educational program lasts for 3 months, including a component of social integration, integration in the company and integration at work. Attendance is free and trainees benefit from meals, transport subsidy, personal accident insurance, uniforms and clothing for individual use, school material and medical supervision.
In this edition, 67 trainees participated, 100% of whom were professionally integrated by Group companies, namely in the Construction, Facilities Management, Education, Hospitality, Distribution and Automobile areas. Thus, the accumulated results of the Program, launched in 2013, are as follows:
- 18 editions that encompassed 51 classes
- 628 trainees
- 587 trainees integrated into Group companies after training (93% placement rate)
The ceremony for awarding diplomas to young people in this edition was held at the Teixeira Duarte Professional Development Center in Luanda and was attended, for the first time, by the Portuguese Ambassador to Angola, Francisco Alegre Duarte, who joined trainees, trainers, guardians, representatives of the Teixeira Duarte Group's business areas and members of its Board of Directors for this occasion. The 19th edition of the program is scheduled to start in 2023. “Fazer Pescar” is one of the social projects in which the Teixeira Duarte Group has invested most and will continue to invest, with significant positive impacts for its companies, its people and for the communities with which it relates.
