19th Edition of the “Fazer Pescar” Program: more than 630 young people integrated into Teixeira Duarte Group companies
On November 16th, at the Teixeira Duarte Professional Development Center in Luanda, the diploma ceremony was held for the 45 young people who successfully completed the 19th edition of the “Fazer Pescar” Program and who will now work in several companies of the Teixeira Duarte Group in Angola. With this edition, there are 632 young people in situations of social need that the Teixeira Duarte Group has already trained and integrated professionally. “Fazer Pescar” is an initiative promoted by Teixeira Duarte since 2013, in which all the Group's business areas in Angola participate, and which aims to create employment opportunities for socially vulnerable young people, training them to, independently , being a fundamental part of the development of the communities in which they operate. This is a training program lasting 3.5 months, which includes a component of social integration, integration into the company and insertion into a job, after which a job contract is offered to successful graduates. Attendance is free and trainees benefit from daily meals, daily transport allowance, personal accident insurance, uniforms, school supplies and regular medical supervision.
In 10 years, “Fazer Pescar” has involved:
- 56 classes (19 editions)
- 673 participants in the training program
- 632 participants integrated into Group companies after training program (93% placement rate)
The closing ceremony of this edition of “Fazer Pescar” brought together trainees, trainers, guardians, representatives of the business areas of the Teixeira Duarte Group and members of its Board of Directors. The diplomas were handed over by Dr. Manuel Maria Teixeira Duarte, President of the Board of Directors of the Teixeira Duarte Group.
The 20th edition of “Fazer Pescar” is scheduled to begin during the 1st quarter of 2024.
