Teixeira Duarte concludes the 20th Edition of the “Fazer Pescar” Programme
On May 17th, it was held, at the Teixeira Duarte Professional Development Center in Luanda, the diploma ceremony for the 42 young people who successfully completed the 20th edition of the “Fazer Pescar” Programme and who will now work in several companies of the Teixeira Duarte Group in Angola.
The graduates also had the opportunity to have lunch with Dr. Manuel Maria Teixeira Duarte, President of the Board of Directors of the Teixeira Duarte Group, in a moment characterized by conviviality and closeness.
“Fazer Pescar” is an initiative promoted by Teixeira Duarte since 2013, in which all the Group's business areas in Angola participate, and which aims to create employment opportunities for socially vulnerable young people, training them to, independently , being a fundamental part of the development of the communities in which they operate. This is a training programme lasting 3.5 months, which includes a component of social integration, integration into the company and insertion into a job, after which a job contract is offered to successful graduates.
Attendance is free and trainees benefit from daily meals, daily transport allowance, personal accident insurance, uniforms, school supplies and regular medical supervision.
After 11 years in operation, “Fazer Pescar” achieved:
- 60 classes (20 editions)
- 714 participants in the training program
- 674 participants integrated into Group companies after training program (94% placement rate)
The closing ceremony of this edition of “Fazer Pescar” brought together trainees, trainers, guardians, representatives of the business areas of the Teixeira Duarte Group and members of its Board of Directors.
The 21st edition of “Fazer Pescar” is scheduled to begin during the 2nd quarter of 2024.
